Drifting Back to Shore: 108 Days of Reflection

108 days. That’s how long it’s been since I last posted. A friend messaged me a while ago, gently asking if I was planning to write again. At the time, I wasn’t ready to share, but their message stayed with me, not as pressure, but as a quiet invitation. And now, after 108 days of drifting, reflecting, and recalibrating, I’m ready to return. Not perfectly. Not consistently. But honestly.

🌊 Caught in the Drift

I’ve known emotional spirals before, but this one caught me off guard. It wasn’t dramatic, it was quiet, persistent, and harder to move through than I expected. What made it different was that I wasn’t trying to move through it. I wasn’t reaching for structure or clarity. I was just riding the wave, drifting wherever it took me, until I realised I’d ended up somewhere I didn’t want to be. Off course. Out of rhythm. And unsure how to find my way back.

🪞 Reflection Without Direction

During this time, I wasn’t living intentionally. I’d fallen back into the “go with the flow” mindset the one I’ve struggled with before, and the very reason I started writing Tori Uncensored in the first place. I built systems to anchor myself, to live with purpose. But somewhere along the way, I stopped living them. I stopped checking the compass. I let the current decide.

And here’s what I’ve learned:

Value doesn’t always come from fixing. Sometimes it comes from feeling. From naming the drift. From showing up in the fog.

🧭 Realignment Isn’t a One-Time Event

It’s a rhythm, a return, a conscious choice to pause and ask whether the life we’re building still reflects the values we hold.

Over the past few months, I’ve been stepping back to ask how everything I’m building through Tori Uncensored fits together. Using the GTD (Getting Things Done) Horizons of Focus framework, I’ve been exploring how my daily actions connect to deeper purpose and whether my systems still reflect the life I’m designing.

If you’re curious about how GTD works, I’ve outlined the core principles here the Life by Design Hub a space where I explore how intentional systems support intentional living.

🌅 Questions from the Higher Horizon

Operating from a higher horizon offers something powerful: the ability to zoom out and reshape the structures that carry us forward. Here are some of the questions I’ve been sitting with and ones you might explore too:

  • What impact do I want to make, and what truths guide me when the path gets foggy?
  • What does “living uncensored” truly mean to me?
  • What’s the legacy I’m nurturing, through my posts, hubs, and family?
  • What principles do I quietly live by, even when no one’s watching?
  • Who is better because I exist?
  • What moments make me feel most me, not as a parent, worker, or partner, but as me?

🔄 What’s Next

This pause has reminded me of the quiet power of reflection, the way it clears the noise and tunes us back into what matters.

Going forward, I’ll be sharing more from the journey: evolving my GTD systems, deepening the Life by Design hub, refining the BA Hub, and preparing for The CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) certification, all as part of the broader narrative of intentional living.

If you’ve felt yourself drifting too, I see you. Let’s keep exploring what it means to shape not just our systems, but our lives.
